Senator Ferns moved to amend the bill on page five, section one, line one hundred two, following the phrase “terminally ill”, by striking out the word “A” and adding the words “means a”;

On page twenty-four, section three, line twenty-nine, by striking out the word “bureau” and inserting the word “department”;

On page forty-one, section two, line two, by striking the words “promulgate rules” and inserting in lieu thereof the words “propose rules for legislative promulgation pursuant to the provisions of article three, chapter twenty-nine-a of this code”;

On page fifty-three, section two, line one, by striking out subsection (a) in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof a new subsection (a) to read as follows:

“(a) Financial interests-- A public official, or an immediate family member thereof, shall not intentionally or knowingly hold a financial interest in a medical cannabis organization or in a holding company, affiliate, intermediary or subsidiary thereof, while the individual is a public official and for one year following termination of the individual's status as a public official.”;

On page fifty-three, section two, line eight, by striking out subsection (b) in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof a new subsection (b) to read as follows:

“(b) Employment--No public official, or an immediate family member thereof, shall be employed by a medical cannabis organization or by any holding company, affiliate, intermediary or subsidiary thereof, while the individual is a public official and for one year following termination of the individual's status as a public official.”;

On page fifty-four, section two, following line fourteen, by inserting a new subsection (c) to read as follows:

“(c) For purposes of this section, “public official” and “immediate family” shall have the same definitions as those phrases are defined in section three, article one, chapter six-b of this code.”

On page fifty-five, section five, line one, by striking the word “Bureau” and inserting the word “Department”;

On page fifty-five, section six, line four, by striking out the words “Bureau of Health Services” and inserting in lieu thereof the words “Department of Health and Human Resources”;

And,

On page fifty-five, section six, line six by striking out the words “Bureau of Health Services” and inserting in lieu thereof the words “Department of Health and Human Resources”.
